Be prepared to deal with sudden changes. Even before you check in for your flight, your airline can change your flight without any consultation with you in advance. Just because you are sitting on an airplane does not mean that the airplane will take off. It could turn around and go back to the terminal. You already paid for your hotel, but when you check in for your room, your hotel may still hit you with junk fees.
